I was entering my 13th year of active duty and found myself struggling in my personal and professional lives. I was barely managing my daily activities, stressed out, and needing help. I got help through the Military and Family Programs Office on Base and later through one of the regional Vet Centers. They helped me to address the challenges stemming from deployments and overworking without proper rest and renewal. Asking for, and receiving help cleared the fog from suppressing my feelings and burn-out. Today, I maintain a Health and Wellness + Accountability lifestyle. I set goals, priorities, and focus on my efforts to get more from life. I get better every day because I sought help and connected to the resources within or outside the VA.
I obtained an Associate in Science in Medical Information Management, a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Studies, and I have enrolled in a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Healthcare Management program for Fall 2022 (part time). I used the VA Home Loan Guarantee program to buy a home twice.
